Iran, Iraq exchanged 200 delegations last year

BAGHDAD (IRNA) – Iran and Iraq exchanged 200 official delegations in the last Iranian calendar year of 1387 (2008-09), said Iran’s ambassador to Iraq on Friday.

Hassan Kazemi Qomi said such a volume of delegation exchanges in the year testifies the fact that Tehran’s diplomacy with Baghdad had been the strongest one of its kind compared to that of other states.
Qomi added that the two countries’ officials have signed 140 protocols -- 41 ones last year -- for mutual cooperation.
The Iranian official noted that the volume of trade exchanges between Tehran and Baghdad has hit dlrs two billion.
The Iranian ambassador also referred to strong will of the two countries’ leaders to guarantee peace and stability in the region.
